Split Broadband Ferrite Core for EMP protection

Application:  one or two ferrites per inside the home power cables

• 1-3 loops of appliance power cords
• 1-3 loops of DC power cables
• 1-3 loops of a corded surge suppressor

This ferrite works to reduce transient voltages in cables.   It works best paired with other EMP devices (i.e. “Security in Layers”)  I use this on the power cables of of surge suppressors to improve it’s lightning protection of my sensitive electronics, also on appliance power cords.

Note: This is a “broadband” ferrite and will give you some protection from EMP if used on your house mains or vehicle battery cables.  For better protection, it’s recommend you use a set of High Saturation Home Ferrites with a good GFI Whole House Surge Suppressor or a pair of  High Saturation Vehicle Ferrites in conjunction with a TRAP-B across the battery terminals.

Note: This will not help with reducing HF radio interference (see our RFI ferrites for that application).
